Sep. 29 2020 News By MacCallum's Boathouse

Please check out this video that the Water Sports Industry Association (WSIA) put together on the studies of the energy of waves generated by boat wakes, at various distances from shore and other variables.  As the popularity of the wakesurf sport continues to grow we need to continue to research safe boating standards and the impact the sport could have on the shoreline and our community.

This years season has come to a close and we learned a lot this past year. We have spent a great deal of energy on safety campaigns to educate boaters.

Some key points to keep in mind for wake responsibility:

1. Always operate 200+ feet away.

2. Play Music at a responsible level.

3. Minimize repetitive passes.

Please take note and let's be ready for spring 2021!
